Description:

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is organising the third edition of a day dedicated to collecting and its main names, personalities who, with their passion, have contributed to the formation of the museum's collection and that of other heritage institutions. The encounter will be an opportunity to re-evaluate a meritorious task developed in the historical context of the process of formation of the Catalan public collections.

Programme

10.00am - Welcome by Pepe Serra, director of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya

10.15am – Eveli Bulbena and her collection of religious art: origins, the Civil War and the current day. Santos M. Mateos, Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya, and Joan Yeguas, conservator of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya

10.45am - The collection of Apel·les Mestres and its spread. Meritxell Cano i Ció, conservator of the Museu de Lleida

11.15am – Coffee break

11.45am – The photographic collection of the graphic artist Josep Lluís Pellicer, or photography taken of nature. Rafel Torrella Reñé, conservator of the Photographic Archive of Barcelona    

12.15pm – The collections of Frederic Marès from outside the museum: donations to other institutions. Aurora Ogalla. PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

12.45pm - The patrimonial legacy of Joaquim de Càrcer i d'Amat (1835-1923), Marquis of Castellbell, in the museums of Barcelona. Josep Capsir Maíz, conservator of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona.

1.15pm - Debate

2.00pm - Lunch

4.00pm - Francisco Bertendona: painter, restorer and collector. Francesc Quílez i Corella, conservator of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.

4.30pm - The Textile Museum and the collection of historical clothing by Lluís Tolosa Giralt. Mercè López García, conservator of the Museu Tèxtil de Terrassa.
