(1874-1912)

American graphic artist internationally recognized as “the precious posters’ lady”. She was one of the quintessential book and poster illustrators of her time, associated with multiple relevant figures in the art and literature world.

Despite she came from a humble background and was nearly self-taught, she had a brief but extraordinary artistic trajectory in Boston and London during the decade of 1890. Since a very young age she showed talent for drawing, with organic style lines. She did not outstand just by her creativity and reputation as a representative of Art Nouveau, but as well for her personality. Her peculiar pieces can be found nowadays at museums like the Metropolitan, the MoMA, or Victoria and Albert.
