Description:
Napper travelled in Spain between 1861 and 1864, documenting the Iberian Peninsula and working as a photographer for Francis Frith. Most of these images were commercialised by Frith's company, with whom he severed relations in mid-1864. Napper devoted very special attention to Andalusia and published an album called 'Views in Andalusia'. Napper's representations of human figures deserve special attention as he was one of the first people to present them realistically, rather than as romantic visions.
