Catalogue of the exhibition Ramon Casas. El pintor del modernisme (Ramon Casas, painter within that cultural movement in Catalonia known as modernisme), which serves to acquaint the reader with the painter's innovative periods, the times and the work that brought him recognition as the outstanding representative of this style in painting, but which also point to those later periods in which Casas lost his hold on artistic leadership. Quite prolific, Casas cultivated painting, drawing and poster art. This catalogue also includes a chronological table and three articles--on Casas, the painter of modernisme; Casas, the recorder of civic events, and on Casas' studio. At the end, a list of drawings by Casas published in periodicals and an ample bibliography.
