'First Act'. Photography at the Museum. This book presents a selection of the most significant work of four photographers considered by the Catalans as the masters of 20th-century Catalan photography: Emili Godes, Otho Lloyd, Josep Masana and Joaquim Pla Janini. These four collections were, moreover, the first to be incorporated as part of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya on the occasion of the creation of the Photography Department in 1996. Within this book we can discover the personal stances of each of the four photographer with respect to the practice of photography.
