The Spanish Civil War. Photographers who Made History. The catalogue for the exhibition conceived and prepared by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya-MNAC: 162 photographs, magazines and posters, from museums, libraries, press agencies, documentation centres, etc. Le Patrimoine Photographique, an association under the aegis of the French Ministry of Culture, presented this exhibition in Paris from June 22nd to September 23rd 2001. The Spanish Civil War was the first important conflict that warranted so much coverage by the media from all over the world. Through the pages of this book, which wishes to acknowledge the value of the work of the photographers who covered the events and their contribution to photojournalism in modern warfare, we are present at the uprising, the fronts, the rearguard, the battles, the bombings, the exodus, the exile and the post-war period. We find pictures of the two opposing sides, from different points of view.
