Still lifes, beyond demonstrating technical perfection in the representation of food in a kitchen or an altar flowers contain a symbolic message related to the historical and moral context in which they were created.
The National Museum presents an exhibition of nineteen still lifes [2] by Spanish artists of the Golden Age, among which we find Juan van der Hamen, Pedro de Camprobín or Juan de Arellano.
