Chandler Rathfon POST, A History of Spanish Painting: Volume I. Cambridge, Massachusetts: Harvard University Press, 1930.
Reference work indispensable for the study of Hispanic painting. Made up of fourteen volumes, it represents the first virtually exhaustive compilation of mediaeval Hispanic painting (and partof the Renaissance).
The Library has two complete collections of this work. The cover in the picture corresponds to the first volume of the original edition of 1930. Separate, we find a reprint from 1970, and an unpublished typed translation into Spanish of the first six volumes, done by Melchor Balaguer.
