In 1934 the Library opens in the Casa de la Junta de Museos in the Poble Espanyol. In 1936 it travels to Olot, along with the artistic and documentary patrimony, and is installed in the Solà-Morales House until 1939, when it returns to the rooms in the Poble Espanyol.
1936 The artistic and bibliographic patrimony is moved to Olot, due to the Civil War
With the outbreak of the Civil War the need to protect and safeguard the patrimony becomes clear, whereby the Catalan Government agrees to move the collections in the Museum to Olot.
The Library, now called the “Museums Commissariat Library of Art”, travels to Olot along with the works of art between October and December this year. It is installed on the first floor of the Solà-Morales House, next to the offices of the Museums Commissariat.
