SVANTJE BUSSHOFF. IN RESIDENCE at the Vall d’Hebron Secondary School
REPAIR project
Svantje Bußhoff [1], holds a degree in Fine Arts (painting) and a postgraduate degree in sound art from the HfBK Dresden, Germany. She is also trained in the traditional craft of bookbinding.
She lives and works in Barcelona since 2001, where she develops a pictorial, graphic, sound and objectual work, employing strategies of destruction and repair.
His work has been shown at art biennials in Tarragona, Castellón, Manacor, Tortosa, Ferrol, Pontevedra, Guimaraes (Portugal). He has also exhibited in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Hamburg, Dresden and Lleida.
He teaches monographs on books at BAU Centre Universitari de Disseny, EASD Pau Gargallo, EADT de Tarragona and private centres.
Her work revolves around nothingness and the impossibility of perceiving it. Formal and conceptual research focuses on the dualisms of emptiness vs. structure, structure vs. detail, and currently focuses on the relationship between destruction and repair and the idea of healing.
