This figure, with Saint John the Evangelist, formed part of the Crucifixion that used to decorate the north wall of the church at Estaon, the central part of which is now preserved at the Museu Diocesà de la Seu d'Urgell. The artist responsible for this work would not have been the one who painted the church's main apse though they would both have been executed around the same time. It is impossible, on the other hand, not to compare this work with the same scene in the paintings from Sorpe, with which in general terms it shares the same style, subject matter and characteristic traits of some of the figures, thereby revealing the versatility of the same models applied to two very different versions of the Crucifixion.
