Inside a room with a tiled floor and a wooden ceiling, Zacharias is sitting at a writing desk, inscribing the name of his son. Standing before him there is a large group of distinguished citizens, one of whom, in the centre of the composition, is holding the infant Saint John the Baptist in his arms. The everyday nature of the scene is heightened by various details, including the dog and the cat in the foreground.Works of the set.Saint Michael Archangel, Pedro García de Benabarre, 1455-1480.
