A bomb explosion at the exit of Corpus procession in Santa Maria del Mar on June 7, 1896 suggested the painter this work. With this painting he won the first medal at the IV Exposició de Belles Arts i Indústries Artístiques de Barcelona. It exist various sketches of this painting.This work has been selected for the project 'Partage Plus - Digitising and Enabling Art Nouveau for Europeana'
