Description:
The almost complete preservation of this work allows noticing the original structure of a panel-baldachin. The painted panel is decorated with a reproduction of Majestic Christ inside a mandorla, which is supported by four angels evoking the Ascension. The baldachin was found in Tavèrnoles (Osona, Catalonia) in the beginning of the 20th century, half hidden behind a Gothic altarpiece. Although it was found in vertical position, is seems that panel-canopies were originally lying horizontally, as a ceiling for the altarpiece.
