Who are the most notable artists of the collection or which are the most recommendable exhibitions?

The collection exhibits 1,000 years of Catalan art, from Romanesque art until the first half of the 20^th century.  It is worth highlighting the collection of Romanesque art, especially the mural paintings and the panel paintings, and the Modernisme, in which artists such as Antoni Gaudí, Ramon Casas and Santiago Rusiñol play a relevant role, amongst others.
