Room 69
Room 69
Augustus Pugin was one of the most outstanding figures in the craze for Neo-Gothic, along with John Ruskin and William Morris, who led the Arts and Crafts movement. At the base of modernism there also lies the rediscovery of the medieval heritage, as in the dazzling gilding on retables, which were echoed in contemporary creations. In this room you can appreciate the continuum from the past in the recovery of techniques and trades, as well as the updating of old formats.
