Raurich, a Catalan artist with a powerful personality, after a long stay in Rome to study, shut himself in his studio in Barcelona completely cut off from the world and dominated by frequent crises of depression. He then devoted himself almost exclusively to painting views of nature without a trace of human existence that are a projection of his intense struggle with life. Latin Sea opens this series, which is characterised by the great density of matter, its free forms and the intense, vibrant colour.
